SUMMARY:Rise & Shine Redondo - August 13\, Ready to Help?
DESCRIPTION:Ready to Help Your Community?\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf a major earthquake\, tsunami\, wildfire\, or other disaster struck tomorrow\, would you know how to protect your family\, employees\, and community? \nPolice Officers and Firefighters are highly trained and equipped to respond to emergencies. But in the aftermath of a major disaster\, first responders cannot be everywhere at once. Neighbors helping neighbors often becomes the first line of support. \nThe good news? Not only can you be prepared\, but you can also make a difference! \nJoin us to learn about two exceptional training programs that empower everyday residents and business owners to make a real impact when it matters most. \nFire Captain Curt Mahoney will provide an overview of CERT (Community Emergency Response Team)\, a nationally recognized 9-week program that teaches disaster preparedness\, emergency response skills\, fire safety\, light search and rescue\, and team organization. Participants gain the knowledge and confidence to help save lives and protect property until professional responders arrive. The next CERT Academy begins September 10 and costs $40 for residents. \nPolice Sergeant John Banach will introduce the Citizen Police Academy\, a 15-week program that offers a behind-the-scenes look at local law enforcement while building stronger partnerships between residents and the Redondo Beach Police Department. The Fall academy begins August 26th. There is no cost and you have the opportunity to sign up in the Spring or Fall. \nWhether your goal is to be better prepared\, more informed\, or more involved in your community\, these programs provide practical skills\, valuable insights\, and meaningful opportunities to serve. \nWhen disaster strikes\, the training you receive today could make all the difference tomorrow. \nAre you ready? \n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgram \n\n7:45am: In-Person: Coffee and Connecting\, South Bay Galleria Community Room\n8:00am: Program Starts\n9:00am: Program Ends\n\nRSVP for Rise & Shine Redondo HERE \nTo find the meetings: Park on level 4 of the Galleria Parking Structure\, 1815 Hawthorne Blvd\, Redondo Beach. Enter the mall and turn left toward AMC. The Community Room is just past AMC on the left. \nTogether\, we celebrate our community and fuel the local economy!
